Firework Restrictions Summer 2024
I’ve had many phone calls wondering where people will be allowed to light fireworks this year.
Fireworks of any kind will not be allowed to be fired off, lit, or used anywhere in unincorporated Rich County. Municipalities can decide if they allow them and where those boundaries are.
In Garden City, fireworks will only be allowed at the Garden City Heritage Park, at the East end of the big parking lot (East of the pickleball courts), and only 2 days prior to the 4th and 24th of July, and only until 1 day after the 4th and 24th of July.
The fire department will have personnel on site at those times and fireworks will only be allowed until 11 pm, with the exception of July 4th. On July 4th, you may light them at that location until midnight.
Please be safe and have a fun holiday!

July 4th 2023 Firework Restrictions
Here are the fireworks restrictions within the Garden City Fire District boundaries for the 2023 July 4th holiday.
The fire district boundaries are from the Idaho line south to the rest area on State Highway 30 and from Cache County to the middle of Bear Lake.
There is only one location that the lighting of fireworks will be permitted and legal within the fire district. There will be no exceptions. The city has allowed the big dirt field north of the heritage park to be used. We encourage everyone to come there with their fireworks. Even if you don’t have any fireworks, it is worth coming and watching everyone else light theirs. We will have a fire truck and medical personnel on site.
Remember, any shooting of fireworks outside of the designated area set aside by garden city will result in confiscation of fireworks and possible steep fines. Also remember that single shot (reloadable) mortars are illegal in Utah and will be confiscated and violators will be fined as well.
Have a fun and safe Independence Day!
